Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because he is arguably one of Australia's most interesting individuals. He is the subject of an article in the Australian Dictionary of Biography, would today be considered an important member of LGBTQI community, has had at least two books written about his life, and was a major participant in the Australasian Antarctic Expedition. He is peripheral to my interests but I would like to get to Stub class as a placeholder for addition of further material encountered in my research. Sorry, don't know all the Wiki Policy numbers to quote, just want to get on with my research and article development--Samuel.dellit (talk) 09:38, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Samuel.dellit: I agree with you. If the article is not removed, leave me a message on my talk page. I will work on it further. 2Joules (talk) 09:48, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks 2Joules for your comment. I have now completed as much as I intend to do on this fascinating character but over next month will be putting a fair bit of effort into history of wireless of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition in Macquarie Island and Commonwealth Bay and would like to have this article remain to hold any further Trove material on Murphy that I come across. You are welcome to start further work on this article, if you wishSamuel.dellit (talk) 11:21, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
