Lead[edit]

Yes, sorry about that @Lindenfall: . Bit of a hit & run tag last night. I was on a completely different mission.

The deal with the lead is this. Biographies normally start with an emboldened name, and then a definition, which tends to be a) most basic details - DoB, DoD, nationality, occupation and then b) what the subject is notable for and then c) anything else that needs to be summarised in the lead. So Henry Timmins (dob-dod) was a Canadian mining engineer and financier (or whatever). Then pretty much your sentence would be fine.

Starting an article about Henry Timmins without his full name emboldened, and launching straight into, hey, Henry & his bro were xyz ... doesn't really work and, if you study pretty much all other biogs, doesn't match the normal approach.

So that was all. Enjoy. --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:11, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks for the notes, @Tagishsimon:. It was one of the earliest pages I'd made. (And, sometimes I can't see my nose for my face, apparently!) Lindenfall (talk) 18:19, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, October. Yes, I have a devious petscan report which finds articles having a wikidata record which lacks basic properties such as P31=Human and P21=Male/Female. I was wading through a big pile of such things last night, mainly concentrating on fixing up wikidata, and only pausing to be rude every now and again without any real due care & attention to the wikipedia side of things. And right now I'm way too tired to grok this article properly, but I can dimly see it's fairly excellent & tells an interesting story well. So all power to you; get rid of the tag as soon as you like; all yours. --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:35, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your refreshing attitude, actually, @Tagishsimon:. I'll be on it shortly... wading through my list. Cheers! Lindenfall (talk) 18:48, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
