Eye loss/damage?[edit]

Did he recordedly lose an eye or suffer a major eyesight affecting injury? His left eye in the infobox picture appears to be either badly bruised after recovering from a wound, or an artificial one. It seems significant he was not deployed on the front line in WWI but remained home based.Cloptonson (talk) 18:15, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
