Chancellor three times[edit]

The lemma mentions that d’A. was Chancellor three times. It’s a bit more complex: the Chancellor (like the Procureur Général) cannot be ousted, even not by the king. Appointed for his lifetime. But, traditionally, the same person also receives the position of Garde des Sceaux - Keeper of the Seals - today’s Minister of the Interior. The king could revoke the seals to make clear that the Chancellor was in a state of disgrace. He could also exile the Chancellor making the exercise of the function impossible. The lemma does not seem to distinguish the two different functions. Riyadi (talk) 10:02, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
