Support. Tileorasi seems to make more sense than tileorassi.Damac 12:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Support. The closest corresponding version of Greek word τηλεόραση / ΤΗΛΕΟΡΑΣΗ in the Latin alphabet would be tileorasi / TILEORASI, with a single s. See Transliteration of Greek to the Latin Alphabet. — Sshadow 15:16, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Support, sure, simple. Do we really need to wait out a full-fledged poll here? If there hadn't been the cut-and-past move we could have just done it easily in no time ourselves. I'll just ask an admin to do the move. Fut.Perf. 18:12, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Wouldn't Radiofonia be the correct transliteration? No one uses ph in Greece nowadays to transliterate φ without looking pretentious. --Tēlex 18:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Errors

This entry has a few factual errors. It is my recollection from living in Greece in the early 70's that Greece had two TV networks by that time: ΕΙΡΤ (National Foundation for Radio and Television) and ΥΕΝΕΔ (Armed Forces Information Service). These organisations also ran several radio networks. I understand that these were merged (late 70's?) to form the current ERT (Hellenic Radio and Television).

In addition to the TV networks cited, ERT runs a number of digital TV channels.Jkanan 00:39, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Yes, they do (three in fact), using the DVB standard. I'm bringing part of this article in line with this year's WRTH, if that's all right with all of you. --Daniel Blanchette 16:19, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Et1today.PNG

Image:Et1today.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I moved this article to Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation because they introduced themselves on their website with this name. [1] So, can you fix "Hellenic Radio [and] Television" on the articles containing that name to "Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation"? Also, ERT's website would be a good source to take any good facts about the broadcaster. -- JSH-alive talkcontmail 15:12, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't believe that either the full Greek-language name Ellinikí Radiofonía Tileórasi or the version Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (whether or not ERT has in the past used the latter on the English-language version of its website) is the best name for this article, given that what we should be using is the term most often used in English-language sources – and that is ERT (beats Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation in frequency of use by at least 10 to 1). -- Picapica (talk) 21:12, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
