threats and financial clout[edit]

Here it says the Prince's threatened to move abroad in 2003 if he didn't get more power. Bearing in mind the royal family's bank employs 1500 people, he was quite clearly using his financial clout to blackmail the electorate. At least according to the BBC. This should go in. Intro sentence is not correct[edit]

It states Hans-Adam would be "reigning". But he gave all his power to his son Alois in 2004 but maintained Fürst and didn't abdicate. So yes, he's still monarch but he doesn't reign anymore. Since 2004 he's a titular Fürst. --212.186.7.98 (talk) 12:13, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hans Adam II or his son Alois[edit]

  • Support. WP:RECOGNIZABILITY means only that the title is a name or description of the subject that someone familiar with, although not necessarily an expert in, the subject area will recognize. The article title Hans-Adam II satisfies this criterion, no differently from how Surtsicna's example of James Monroe satisfies this criterion. Adding more description to the title is unnecessary disambiguation (WP:PRECISION). There is no other topic named Hans-Adam II. In addition, Hans-Adam is not a name shared by any other monarchy. This is in contrast to the phenomenon of names being widely shared between countries, like John, Philip, Charles, William, etc., which make up the bulk of WP:NCROY cases for monarchs, and which are a central part of the justification for why a WP:NCROY guideline is needed in the first place. Lastly, nothing in this discussion is about anything "overriding" anything else; it's a normal application of criteria and guidelines, which in discussions require individualized consideration as always.     • Well, PRECISE also notes that Exceptions to the precision criterion may sometimes result from the application of some other naming criteria, with NCROY given as an example.
