Conflicting information[edit]

This entry states that Craft's manuscript was "likely written after 1865." However the entry for "The Bondswoman's Narrative" cites an expert who states that "the manuscript was written before 1861, because had it been written afterward, it would have most certainly contained some mention of the war or at least secession." Also analysis of the ink used, according to the same entry, seems to indicate it was written prior to 1860. Either the manuscript was written prior to 1861 or it was written after 1865. Both dates obviously can't be right, thus one of the entries is wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.141.154.75 (talk) 02:10, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

None of the dates are claimed to be definitive, so presenting conflicting dates is a means of being neutral per WP:NPOV. We can always alter the wording if this is unclear. If we only presented one opinion when conflicting evidence exists, that would be bias. Regards, RJH (talk) 02:29, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The book is more closely linked to Bleak House, not Our Mutual Friend according to scholar Rachel Teukolksy. See PICTURES IN BLEAK HOUSES: SLAVERY AND THE AESTHETICS OF TRANSATLANTIC REFORM Rachel Teukolsky . ELH . Baltimore: Summer 2009. Last name[edit]

The article in the NYT gives a basis for the name Crafts: the people Bond stayed with: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/19/books/professor-says-he-has-solved-a-mystery-over-a-slaves-novel.html?pagewanted=1&nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20130919. Kdammers (talk) 11:55, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hecimovich[edit]

Gregg Hecimovich's assertions are clearly WP:OR and is presented as such by the NYT article. Need better sourcing. Toddst1 (talk) 15:25, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
