"...a fate met by much of the band's equipment over the years..."[edit]

The article currently makes the statement: "Soon after the recording of Let It Be, the 1961 model was stolen from Abbey Road Studios, a fate met by much of the band's equipment over the years." I have no reason to dispute the first part of this statement, but it's my impression (and just my impression) that relatively few of the Beatles' guitars were stolen from them. Unfortunately the source cited for this statement confirms neither of these facts. Would the author or some other knowledgeable person provide some elaboration? The article links the website http://www.thecanteen.com/fabguitars.html, more specifically the page about Paul McCartney's 1961. Though not many of The Beatles guitars were stolen, quite a few were, such as a 1962 Gibson J-160E, a 1965 Martin D-28, a Gretsch 6119 Tennessean (the Shea Stadium guitar), and a 1965 Rickenbacker 360-12 (Harrison's replacement 12-string). The author might also be taking into account the amount of Beatle guitars which are missing or unaccounted for (Primarily John Lennon's collection. As an owner of one of these basses, my guess is that McCartney fastened the strap at the top of the neck because if you let it go, the weight of the neck vs that of the hollow body, makes the neck drop like a rock. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.65.25.94 (talk) 11:34, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Cavern Bass"[edit]

Be careful about calling a 500/1 a Cavern bass. There is a special significance to the term as it deals with pickup spacing. If you notice Paul's 1961 has close pickup spacing and has the designation Cavern. Gibson EB-1[edit]

Is it not true that the Höfner bass is something of a copy of the Gibson EB-1? If so, should we add a sentence to that effect?

Lacking re-direct[edit]

How come the common nickname Beatle bass is mentioned in bold in the lead, but you can't reach this article by typing this name into the search field? Having typed the full nickname in, the search field only suggests Beagle Basset, and after hitting enter with the real nickname, the first position on the list of more or less random search results is Fifth Beatle. --2003:71:4E07:BB09:3502:C806:BF25:1F30 (talk) 21:18, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

incorrect information[edit]

"On 30 January 1969 the Höfner Bass made its last Beatle appearance at the Apple rooftop concert. Sometime during the recording of Let It Be, the 1961 model was stolen from an Abbey Road Studios closet," is wrong. The one in the rooftop concert is the 1963 bass.
