How about some info on the Guangxi Clique? 24.141.214.87 (talk) 08:15, 29 June 2005‎ (UTC)

Cannibalism

What about references to the 1000 people who were cannibalized in Guangxi? Tim Long 05:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Names

The first paragraph is a mess to read with all of the names info. Anyone averse to a separate names section to follow the intro paragraph? - AjaxSmack 03:14, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

I find the Cantonese dialect web page embarassing. While Cantonese is OK as a dialect, it is not meant to be a literary language - a scholarly article written in Cantonese is a contradiction in terms.

While I do not propose to go back to writing in Classical Chinese, writing the Chinese language in the vernacular was only popularized after the fall of the Qing dynasty - less than 100 years ago. Some of the promoters of this vernacular were writers from Shanghai. Instead of promoting the writing of a vernacular based on the Shanghai dialect, they promoted the writing of a vernacular based on the Beijing dialect. If a native Alemmani speaker can write in Standard German - I am sure that a Cantonese speaker can write in Standard Chinese.

  • Finally changed the intro with the name stuff. Kept the information on the name but split it between the intro and culture.Mike (talk) 01:57, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Cantonese area

Why was cantonese area included in Guangxi?--Kaiyr (talk) 12:18, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

If I understand your question the article says to give the landlocked province access to the sea, but that's all it says. You may find more information in the sources, or in the version of this article on the Chinese Wikipedia.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 17:40, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Guangxi 1952-1958

Where I can find map of Guangxi province and Zhuang autonomous region for 1952-1958 year?--Kaiyr (talk) 13:57, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

I don't know. My first instinct would be to search the web but this is the sort of information which might not be online, but only available in old Chinese maps and atlases. If you're in China, especially Guangxi, a library or university would be the place to look.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 17:40, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Gebet für die Welt

Looking into it I agree this is not a reliable source. It translates as "Prayer for the world" and is either the German version of or a companion book to this, Operation World, by the same author Patrick Johnstone (with a German co-author/translator). Not a reliable academic work: according to the article Operation World is "regarded by most evangelicals as the definitive volume of prayer information about the world".--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 21:48, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

See WP:RSN#"Prayer for the World" published by a Evangelical Christian media foundation - is this RS?.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 22:12, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

History

This year the 60th anniversary of the Guangxi Autonomous Region is celebrated largely in all the Province. I believe a comment on how this status was promulgated in 1958 is necessary in the History section. I have no sources to quote but any Chinese historian or librarian can formulate an objective description of the events that have culminated in this promulgation.
