Background of closing credits

I just saw the movie. It looks like the closing credits use as a background a very washed out reversed page from the green book. Not having seen a green book, I can't say for sure, but a list of motels in mirror image was displayed. Victor Engel (talk) 23:10, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

White savior narrative in film

People can "write" about anything. Hitler "wrote" about the Jews. Sometimes what people write is garbage trash that isn't relevant, especially when this is based on history, and the trope is reserved for fictional narratives. How dumb can you be to apply a fictional narrative trope (a very petty one that doesn't make sense at that) to something that actually happened in real life, unless you have an axe to grind?2601:49:1:5316:9440:834:E135:99A0 (talk) 00:43, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Piano playing?

Is Mahershala Ali really that good a pianist as he is an actor? I realise that the sound track is probably not be the notes he actually played but his fingering and timing is very convincing. It is definitely worth a mention in the article. --88.97.11.54 (talk) 21:13, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

Production

I just saw the movie and noticed that Octavia Spencer is an executive producer. Below is a link to an article about her work on the film. However, she is not on the list of producers or mentioned in the article. Is there a reason why?

If you’re meaning the infobox the infobox covers the producers listed on the poster. There’s no field for executive producers. Rusted AutoParts 23:57, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Afro-American?

I'm no historian, but I have read news reports somewhere that the pianist was NOT ever from the island of JAMAICA, but rather from hum-drum FLORIDA. This was said to be a marketing scheme by his white promoters to make him sound more exotic in publicizing his musical performances.

@Dr.Bastedo: According to Shirley's Wikipedia article his parents were Jamaican (source [1]), but I'm really just questioning if it's noteworthy enough to be included in the header for this article? Trio

One of the members of Don Shirley trio was Jüri Täht, who is actually Estonian. In this interview (in Estonian) he questions, that he didn't understand why was he depicted as a Russian (and points out, that he remembers some things differently: for example, he never saw Shirley drinking alcohol, the car was always black Cadillac etc). Also, surprisingly there is hardly anything written about the trio anywhere in Wikipedia. Ivo (talk) 13:54, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

That article is more about the trio than the movie. Its details belong in an article on the trio or Shirley. Coretheapple (talk) 13:14, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

I'm just saying, that it is surprising, that this article here about the film doesn't mention the trio (nor does the article about Shirley). And if it does in the future, then it might be necessary to point out, that there is a small mismatch between the nationalities of the members of the trio (film vs real life) + in this newspaper article there are some references, that might be useful to point out in the article about the film (i.e. where might had the film director used creative freedom and not depicted the person exactly as he may had been in real life). Postscript

I added the movie postscript directly quoted from the film. I added it on 4/2/2019 and it was deleted on 4/3/2019. The director added postscripts to his movie and the facts add context and meaning. I would like to know if postscript film information is forbidden even frowned upon. I am looking for consensus. Or was edit another example of beating back the "be bold" directive. Small error in the intro

The intro currently includes It is named after The Negro Motorist Green Book, a guide book for African-American travelers published by Victor Hugo Green from 1936 to 1966. The problem with this being that Victor had stopped being publisher and started being dead years before that 1966 date. Perhaps a guide book for African-American travelers founded by Victor Hugo Green in 1936 and published until 1966.? I will not make this change myself as I have a strong WP:COI in relation to the Green Book, but I invite others to review the information and correct it as appropriate. --Nat Gertler (talk) 17:04, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
