Musical recordings[edit]

Whitney recorded a disco single based on Star Trek at one point, as well as a few albums. These should probably be mentioned though I have no information on the single except it was called "Disco Trekkin'" and apparently ranks somewhere between Shatner's "Transformed Man" and Nimoy's "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" ... 23skidoo 04:39, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

because marijuana is not addictive. The link pointed to "drug addiction," but now points to "recreational drug use," which I feel is an acceptable compromise.

Um, no, it most certainly is NOT acceptable. You do not get to come in here and DECLARE that marijuana is not addictive based on your personal opinion. There's more than one type of addiction (i.e., physical vs. psychological dependence), not to mention that not everyone responds to every substance the same way (i.e., many people drink but not everyone develops alcoholism, etc.), and ANY qualified scientific source will quickly tell you that marijuana most certainly IS generally considered to be an addictive substance -- legal or not, recreational or not, your personal opinion/experience concurring or not. Plus we're talking about a woman who openly admitted to struggling with addiction for many years... therefore even if some people "don't think it's addictive", it seems clear that SHE found it addictive. 12.31.187.178 (talk) 18:34, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, KSEE is an actual television station in Fresno and the cited source is their website. The "Liberty Voice" blog with the "maybe it's a hoax, who knows?" speculation (written by "Crystal Boulware") is not a reliable source. - Dravecky (talk) 02:18, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mmmm... I wouldn't say it's real because a TV station is reporting it. These hoaxes have been happening more and more frequently. AND, with the item being on the weekend, who knows what kind of staff they have on hand to fact-check. I think we'd be wise to watch this closely. I have added the NBC News version, including quotes from family not in the original KSEE report. Also of note: NBC News says "this weekend" rather than a specific date. I've included this data in an accompanying invisible comment within the article. Executive who sexually assaulted her[edit]

I thought it was public knowledge that it was Roddenberry who sexually assaulted her. Why is he not identified by name in the article? Thanks in advance to anybody who knows.Betathetapi545 (talk) 10:15, 8 October 2017 (UTC) Because it is NOT "public knowledge" and is also defamatory. She never named the perpetrator, simply calling him "The Executive," because in her own words, "This is my story, not his." The only person she told of her assailant's identity, was Leonard Nimoy. Since both Whitney and Nimoy are dead, we will almost certainly never know who it was and to say it was Gene Roddenberry is defamatory and an outrage because there's no way to prove it one way or another. His son with Majel and one of his daughters from his previous marriage are still alive. To call their father a rapist is defamatory and outrageous.
