Sea Level change[edit]

This is an amazing story  !!

How much rise in sea level was required to bring the Mediterranean Sea from 5 kilometres away to only a few metres from the cave? CBHA (talk) 02:20, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Map error[edit]

When I click on the map, I get a message "No file by this name exists." Is the link broken? 155.213.224.59 (talk) 14:05, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

'Abstract art'[edit]

Tic-tac-toe field, Gorham's Cave.

"Art" my foot! Obviously, those Neanderthals were just bored — they were playing tic-tac-toe, probably with pebbles and sticks. Sca (talk) 20:29, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

'Doesn't Make It Human'[edit]

Most of the great apes can paint pictures, Koko as an example. The oldest peices of human art are the Venus figurines. Neanderthals scrtached some markes into a cave wall. I don't know why people are so hell bent on minimizing the wonder and splendor of humanity all of the time. Neanderthals were less than us, we are better than they were deal with it. Homo sapiens sapiens rule. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.225.49.27 (talk) 22:46, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, you mean like the wonderful homo sapiens of 'IS' ?. (Talk about Neanderthals!) Sca (talk) 23:41, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I mean all homo sapiens sapiens. Even the messed up ones who kill and raped and destroy in name of an imaginary magic man who lives in the clouds are superior to Neanderthals. The most hate filled human will still bury his death, sing songs to his lost brothers in a time of war, and write love letters back to his wife. Neanderthals did not have that capability, perhaps they could have evolved it at some point, but scratches on the walls of a cave can't compare to anything humans of the same time did, and certainly nothing compared to what we have accomplished since Neanderthals demise. Homo sapiens sapines are animals for sure, but we are extermely special animals, and recently there has been a push to end the idea that humans are special, I will agree that we are not speciall when whales launch the Dorie II Mars Probe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.225.49.27 (talk) 22:36, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Unsigned: Bleve you're taking me a bit too seriously. Sca (talk) 23:15, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Internal inconsistency re status as a sea cave[edit]

The intro para says "Though not a sea cave, it is often mistaken for one." But the very first sentence in the "Description" section says "Gorham's Cave is a sea cave[citation needed] which has formed in Jurassic limestone."

So, is it a sea cave or isn't it? Rgrayuk (talk) 11:03, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
