Link under image in Search by image section broken[edit]

It looks like the link under the ocean waves in the Search by image section was a way to show how Google Images works. Only the link does not work.

I do not know what was really the intend and would prefer to see the author who added that image and link fix the problem.

Luis von Ahn[edit]

Should we add a link to Luis von Ahn?

I don't think it's necessary...from reading the article, it seems Luis von Ahn was only part of the Google Image Labeler project; so if there is a page for the Google Image Labeler project, that would probably be the best place to add the reference to him. --72.154.135.170 15:37, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Browser-dependent?[edit]

I see the origin site, pixel dimensions, and length in KB on the results pages without having to mouseover each image. Has this problem been fixed, or was it browser-dependent? AnonMoos 07:24, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

features gone???[edit]

How come there is no longer the "More from blablabla.com" or the image size option? Daniel Christensen (talk) 22:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When you click on a thumbnail from a image search it does not take it you anymore to the page where the image is. It takes you directly to the image. It is impossible to know where the image belongs to. This was not the case before. Should this limitation be listed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.225.156.156 (talk) 15:58, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What are you talking about? It does no such thing...70.91.35.27 (talk) 21:00, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Tim[reply]

A question that I'd like answered[edit]

I hope it's okay to add this here.

The number of images that Google says it has found in a given search is never anything like the number it actually delivers (except when the number is very small). Whether using the new interface or the old, the maximum seems to be around the 1000 mark. In the old interface, it gives 50 pages. This is okay for most purposes, but not if your job depends on access to any image. Nor is it for the rest of us if we want to feel we're actually getting access to the entire Google database.

The same is true of Bing.

This seems to be the case regardless of computer or connection.

I'd really like to know the answer. If Google has found x million images, how does one view an arbitrary section in the upper reaches of that list? If it hasn't, why does it say that it has?

Does anyone know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.222.54.58 (talk) 21:48, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Image search no pictures before 2012[edit]

Hi

Anyone else found that today they cannot get an image before 2008 using image search?

Does anyone have any info on why this is/when it changed?

We have covered the image size removal due to Getty, but this new one seems to not be included. Chaosdruid (talk) 21:27, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

International?[edit]

I couldn't find where/if the page says whether there are international limits to Google's Image search.

The removal of image search by resolution, a permanent functional change is more than just "news".[edit]

My mention of the August 2019 removal of image searching by exact resolution and others was removed because "Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS".

But this is well beyond "news". It is a permanent change in functionality, just like the February 2018 removal of image hot links that is mentioned above, which also is clearly not trivial.

What are others' thoughts on this? Olwiku (talk) 09:20, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
