Significance[edit]

At the moment, this article reads like "There are two arbitrary points in the sky with stars in them, between which every object in the solar system passes from the point of view of earth, except when they don't." Who came up with the name? How long is it expected to last? Are there points on earth that it is not viewable? Is it an astrological term?
