COI[edit]

It is quite clear that User:GR2007 is connected to this company. Consequently, there is potential for a conflict of interest. Please stop adding unsourced peacock terms to the article such as 'global leader'. I have restored the tags requiring sources for many claims. By all means continue to develop the article in an objective manner but do not remove these tags until you have added the requisite sources. TerriersFan (talk) 19:32, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I noticed the citations yesterday, but did not have time to respond to them. Today I noticed GR2020 made additional changes (removing the citation indicators). I think GR2020 is associated with the company but I've been unable to trace them. GR2007 (talk) 20:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why there is a conflict of interest. I also don't understand what is meant by 'unsourced peacock terms'... There shouldn't be any doubts that GR is a global leader in performance fabrics. As a long term friend of the family, the other day when I noticed errors in the article, I wanted to fix them ASAP... and obviously I won't post anything that I don't know to be true. (unless I make a simple boo-boo like with Tri Vantage being one word or having a split second memory lapse and thinking Mexico is part of S. America...lol)

It goes without saying that wikipedia is new to me, so your help with wikipedia SOP's is greatly appreciated.

There are still a few errors with the article, for example I don't believe AEG Jr is the grandson of JQG, I think he was his great uncle, but I need to talk to Allen to confirm - just havent had the time...

How do you distinguish if a sentence needs a citation or not - and who decides this?

GR2020 (talk) 15:30, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another error - JQG did not change the name of the company to Glen Raven. I don't know what name he changed it too... perhaps Glen Raven Mills... The company did not take the name Glen Raven, Inc. until the early 1990's (maybe early 2000's). It was primarily a cotton mill and operated under the name Glen Raven Mills, Inc. for over 30 years...

Dickson Constant was/is a division of Dickson of France

A couple of points - the initial statement should simply state what the company does; this is Wikipedia practice. Statements like 'global leader' can go in later provided that they are reliably, and independently sourced. The reason is that there is a potential COI is that you have a connection with the company and are not taking an independent view. What you know to be true is not, by itself, enough - we need independent sources. It is for this reason that removing the (fact) tags was wrong. HTH. Proposed change[edit]

I am with the public relations agency for Glen Raven, Inc. and would like to contribute a neutral article to remove the COI disclaimer that is posted to the page. I have posted our suggestion on my userpage User:Knh1314/GlenRavenInc. Please let me know how we an go about doing this. Thank you. WP:SCOIC Knh1314 (talk) 18:58, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brand and Subsidiary Sections[edit]

Hi, I want to add more information about Glen Raven Inc's subsidiaries and brands. I've worked on these tables on my sandbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Nwerner1/sandbox

Any recommendations for other data to include in these tables?
