Untitled[edit]

Great work. Can we attribute (obviuosuly approximate) times to the artists? It might help people plan what clashes with whom?

I've started the page off with some headliners from last year. We can put all future lineup details here. Feel free to expand as you will, i will be back to add to this page once the main article is sorted out. Logan1138 19:12, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be possible to split each line up into a different page? There could be a link to each from the main Glastonbury_Festival_line-ups page, then you could have a Glastonbury_Festival_line-ups(Year X) page for each one?

It seems to me that it would be worth putting each Glastonbury Festival into a page of its own; i.e. Glastonbury Festival 2007, Glastonbury Festival 2006, etc., including the lineup for that year. That would tidy up the main GF page a bit as well. 87.127.69.85 10:45, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've started to put the mid-90s into tables; it's all based on the programme at the time, plus any changes I can remember- so be warned there could be errors due to late changes. It's becoming a long page- maybe a page per festival (at least for the recent ones) would be a good idea.

Also, I've lost the booklet from 2000, so will have to get that info from elsewhere.

I think having all acts that have played glastonbury in one page is actually immensely handy as a quickly searchable reference guide. Worthy FM, the festival radio station, can only play music by acts that are playing at or have played at glastonbury at some point, and this 'all in one' page was immensely handy for us last week when on air! I wouldn't see the length of the page as a reason to alter something that is actually far more useful in one page than it would be fragmented all over the place.

That said, pages for each year, in addition to one page for all year's acts, would be a good thing too, as it could be a good place to put other information on each year's festival, beyond just the acts that played there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Worthyfmdj (talk • contribs) 14:44, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1991[edit]

Due to security issues (loads of fence bunking) and a number of other problems during the 1990 festival, 1991 was called off. There is no 1991 in the document itself but one is provided in the links at the top of the page, so can you either (a) provide information from that link to why there is no 1991 festival or (b) remove 1991 from the link options at the top of the page? 1995[edit]

I'd have to try and dig out my programme, but I'm pretty sure Oasis were on against the Prodigy on the friday night, with the Prodigy playing the other stage. 1997[edit]

Sure there is an error, either here, in my memory... I saw Ray Davies do a stunning acoustic storyteller set in a circus tent. However the listing says he played the Pyramid stage... Vote for and Against splitting page[edit]

It has been suggested that the article Glastonbury_Festival_line-ups be turned into a disambiguation page with links to each year, eg Glastonbury_Festival_line-ups (2008). Please support, oppose or Neutral as below:

1. Oppose - It's really handy indeed for people needing to do ctrl+f on a single page to see if a band's ever played Glasto. It was really useful for Worthy FM last year, who can only play music by bands that have appeared at Glastonbury. Can't see any benefit in splitting it up, and can see downsides.

Clean up required[edit]

This article reads like a massive promotion with nearly every piece of the schedule published. The list of stages is irrelevant and the list of artists without article too. Both should be pruned or completely cut out. And there should be sources added to the article, independent sources conform WP:RS. The Banner talk 13:26, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that 2015 should be in there at all until it has happened - there is already ample detail on the Glastonbury Festival 2015 page. It may all be cancelled tomorrow. I don't agree that an artist should be taken off just because they don't have an article though - they may be due one and could be huge in a year's time. Btljs (talk) 14:28, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
WP:LISTPEOPLE: A person is typically included in a list of people only if all the following requirements are met: 1) The person meets the Wikipedia notability requirement; 2) The person's membership in the list's group is established by reliable sources.

I think condition 2 is the big fail here. There are numerous news articles about Glastonbury, reviews etc., yet nobody is citing any of them. (But I take your point on condition 1 - they could be added later as if they become a global phenomenon, some news article is going to hark back to their humble beginnings in the 'Mellow Acid Jazz & tapas tent') Btljs (talk) 19:43, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I get that 'line-up' generally refers to billing of scheduled performers, but this is surely supposed to be a list of artists who actually performed? No blacks in the audience[edit]

Glastonbury's clientele (audience) is almost exclusively white and middle class. You won't see any black faces in the audience. There are some black acts though; this is a positive thing (in my view).

Should we add this information to the article? If so, how can we?

Big Time Rush mystery[edit]

Who keeps putting Big Time Rush in the 2020 lineup? None of the citations regarding the 2020 lineup show this, and Google gives no results that would indicate their performance. And yet, like clockwork, every time BTR has been removed from the page, someone puts them back in. If anyone can point me towards a source that confirms this, please do. It just happened again! I have removed them for the time being, but a source for this would be nice. At the time the lineup was announced, they wouldn't have reunited yet, so how could they have performed???
