Improvements[edit]

I added a bunch of categories, tied this to the video game project and did an info box, but the article itself could stand a re-write. Ace of Sevens 17:05, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a complaints section regarding the lack of accuracy in the British forces

You Can take out a BMP with a Bradely in the game.

Stereotypes[edit]

I think it's odd that the British stereotypes are blamed on what Americans usually think of when thinking of the British. Didn't these Brits that complained notice that the Americans were just as stereotyped? You have your Southern hayseed, your tough talkin mo'fo from the hood and all the command officers are the typical steady action hero voice. Maybe the British believe that's what all Americans are like as well?--66.240.89.45 14:22, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disc made in Mexico[edit]

"There was a disclaimer on the back of the video game case "Disc made in Mexico," which has contributed to the bugs and glitches."

This part has been added, removed and added again. Even if this disclaimer is on the game case, how does the disclaimer contribute to bugs and glitches? I think what is meant here is "there are many bugs and glitches because the disk was made in Mexico", but that doesn't seem very objective.

I'm deleting the part again, please do not add it again without discussing it here.

The game didn't come on magnetic media though but on optical discs. 78.54.41.146 (talk) 09:43, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

British Weapons[edit]

I changed the weapon used by the British to the HK33, after playing the game and noticing it was not the FN FAL as was previously stated. Also changed the grenade launcher on said weapon to the HK79, and added links and info to all weapons and the SA80. I'm not sure about the HK33. It has a slightly curved magazine, the rifles in the game have straight ones (like the FN FAL). Also the HK33 wasn't used by the UK. El Bandano 13:49, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could be right, it may be a G3A4, but it's definitely not a Fal (I serve in the British Army Corps of Royal Engineers)I thought that the barrel was too short but I've just seen a picture where it matches the screenshot on the back of the box. The HK33 is used by special forces only in the UK in it's shorter HK53 carbine configuration, but in all honesty the uniform used in the game bears no resemblance to my Combat 95 DPM's or my MK6 helmet.Tim Park1983

Could it be that it is supposed to be a FN FAL but it's displayed inaccurately? It would make sense because the FAL was the standard rifle before the SA80. And it wouldn't be the first inaccuracy in the game. If this is the case you can add it to the critisism about the british soldiers/weapons.

BTW, what makes you so sure it isn't a FAL? El Bandano 11:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A number of points, the telescoping stock, the forgrip, the forward o-ring sight (the FAL had an M16 style open sight), and the grenade launcher. The gun is definitely an HK G3 variant. I'm pretty certain that the British soldiers in-game were not originally intended to be British, because all aspects of the US equipment and uniform were portayed accurately for the time of development and release, though the US BDU has since changed pattern. Most equipment in the British Army has been in use since the mid 80's and 1990s. Tim Park1983 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.21.6.136 (talk) 15:19, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced Criticisms[edit]

I've removed the large section of criticisms as most of them were POV and completely unsourced. It was rife with weasel words like "many gamers." I felt the section wasn't well written or sourced and decided to be bold and remove it. Perhaps if a notable source makes mention of these grievances, it can be replaced, but then, it must be a reliable source and must be properly noted.
