Ranelagh Bridge?[edit]

Is there a solid source for the claim that this bridge's correct name is "Ranelagh Bridge"? That seems to be the name of a small bridge close to the Royal Oak station, as seen on this Google maps page. It's true that the Fulham Railway Bridge is close to Ranelagh Gardens on the map, but that's not necessarily significant. Hqb 12:55, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the "Ranelagh Bridge" mention for now. Hqb 13:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brunel's assistant?[edit]

Hi Hqb - nice, prompt and approporiate edits to the stuff that I did earlier. Respect.

However, as far as I can work out Jacomb had been Brunel's assistant on the Great Eastern; but he was Chief Engineer on the London and South Western Railway when he got to build this bridge? I'm not at all sure about this, so don't want to simply edit back, but ...

I believe you are right; I just wanted to add a little context, given that Jacomb doesn't have his own article yet, while most readers will have heard of Brunel. I've changed it to "former assistant", which should be clearer, especially since Brunel was long dead by the time Jacomb started working on this bridge. Hqb 19:13, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. As soon as I can get to an actual paper book type library I'll try and put a skeleton of an article on Jacomb together. Not a lot on the web, as far as I can see. 19:38, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Fulham or Putney?[edit]

One user is claiming the name of the bridge is Putney (he/she is claiming local knowledge as the source), while is article itself is named Fulham Railway Bridge. What is the exact name of the bridge? WadeSimMiser (talk) 21:48, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
