The article does not say, if this french indemnity was ever recovered by Paris, for example at the end of WW1, ending in ha umiliating defeat of the teutonic brutes or at the end of WW2, ending in a total defeat of the nazi monster. Even today, France could claim back the loot, since they are a thermo-nuclear power and their domestic and foreign armed forces are very strong, while the germans lack nukes and their army is now increasingly teethless and unmotivated.
