Semi-finals[edit]

Removing hypothetic consideration about the future: "a game that presaged what may have happened if the Uruguayans had sought to defend their World title in 1934" This consideration is stating that, since Uruguay won 3-2 in 1928 against Italy, than a similar outcome was to be expected 6 years after. With Italy-Spain ending 1-1 and then 7-1 three days after, this speculation about Uruguay-Italy 6 years after is a little bit weird. Please also note that all South-American teams left Italy 1934 at the first round, including Argentina that ended 1928 Olympics and 1930 FIFA world cup at second place.Mauro.petrolo (talk) 09:14, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Opinions[edit]

I didn't want to change anything else, but the whole article is fullfill of personal opinions (most likely by some fan from Uruguay), like "There was little question as to who were the favourites going into the tournament. Uruguay were rightly considered to be the strongest side", "It seemed only fair and fitting that on May 18, 1929, the Barcelona congress voted that Uruguay be the first nation to host a World Cup.", "The Italian coach, Augusto Rangone, had been fortunate", "Clearly less was more", "Their semi-final with Uruguay should rightly rank as one of the key matches in football history", "This time Argentina would be holding onto their coat-tails."
