Series run?

Was this series ever meant to last more than two episodes? From my understanding, it was only made to promote the release of the game and was never meant to last any further than two episodes. Jonny2x4 01:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

The Fire Emblem anime was produced several years after the game it was based on was released, so I doubt that it was used as a promotional tool. Many anime OVA series end prematurely for various reasons, but one of the most common is that there simply wasn't enough fan interest in it to justify the continued expense of producing new episodes. Although I don't have the verification to be sure, I'd say it's most likely that the Fire Emblem anime was cut short because there wasn't enough interest in it and it simply didn't sell as well as had been hoped.--Hailinel 03:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I heard (Don't remember where - I should go look for that...) that it did poorly because they had advertising & communication issues - no one knew about it, so it never became popular enough to sustain itself. Which is a shame.. ;_;   --Cartoonmaster 07:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Name standardization

Could we standarize the names per their accepted/official spellings? (Plese see: Table of characters in the Fire Emblem series) I like the "Traditional Spelling" column, because that better fits the closer and accepted spellings commonly used, and the name spellings used in the subs, if I remember correctly (Ex. Marth can stay that way even though he was called "Mars" at the time, because "Marth" is official now, but I believe the other characters were spelled: Sheeda, Jeigan, Julian, Rena, Ellis, Navarre, Oguma, off the top of my head. I've actually never seen Navarre's name spelled "Navahl" - usually Navarre or sometimes Nabarl, following conventional romanization methods. Probably best to go with what they put in the subs, so we should probably double-check. But so far, the summary looks like a good start that could be polished with a little cleanup ^_^  --Cartoonmaster 07:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Aside from Marth, the names used aren't standardized because there is no real English language standardization for them. Some people see Navarre, someo Nabarl, and if I recall correctly, the ADV translation used a third spelling. This will get cleared up eventually, however, as Fire Emblem DS, which is a remake of the storyline, will most likely be translated for western audiences and the debate will be put to rest.-75.92.186.211 (talk) 07:09, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Marth's last name

Is it noteworthy to mention that the OVA had Marth introduce himself as Marth Lowell? (Please See Marth's talk page, under "Last name, counter quotes, changes, and manga") Up until recently, he was the only one in the series to have a last name, if I have my facts straight.   --Cartoonmaster 07:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I agree - The FE main article already mentions and links here. The main article's about the entire series of games; this one's about the short-lived anime based on one of the games in the series.
