I think that this is an excellent article, but I believe that the opening statement, "Florida is the 3rd largest state for film production in the United States," might not be true. I believe Louisiana takes that spot, thanks to their very generous tax incentives for film productions. Either way, could we possibly get a reference for this statistic? No mention of There's Something About Mary in an article about films filmed in Florida. There's a lot of other movies missing in the Miami section.

Needs moving[edit]

At the very least, the capitals need to be removed. I'm thinking perhaps Cinema of Florida, to bring it in line with the naming conventions established by the World Cinema series, or perhaps film industry of Florida or film in Florida (similar to film in Kansas City). Any suggestions? This talk page doesn't look very busy. If I don't get replies within the week, I'll move it to Cinema of Florida.

Change in title[edit]

I changed the title to Film industry in Florida to align it with the titles for other states. "Cinema of Florida" really implies that the films' contents are somehow specific to Florida, as they would be for a country. An example: Cinema of Mexico might imply not only the film industry in Mexico, but also the specifically Mexican content of the films, Mexico being a country. An article about film in Florida is not about that, it's about the industry, the economy of it, the incentives and so forth. So to speak of the industry (film industry) as opposed to the art (cinema) seems more appropriate. And it was how just slightly more articles were titled. Updating[edit]

This article needs a monitor to keep it current with events in the industry. The 2006 citation of the Florida Film Commission is horribly out of date for something like this, and businesses and studios may be out of business or new studio locations may have been built. I only had time for one movie listing update. If it is to be turned into an article that does not require updating, it needs to be edited to reflect only the top most notable accomplishments of the industry in Florida.
