Cleanup[edit]

The reason there are a LOT of reference links at the end of the sentence was to prevent a "speedy delete" that always happens without giving author a chance to get link to prove the page is legit. If they need to be cleaned up, be my guest. NostalgiaBuff97501 (talk) 18:53, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE NEEDED: This article is very out-of-date. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_FXFL_season should be added into this main article and present/past tenses should be corrected.

Brooklyn Bolts[edit]

The name and home field of the New York team has been decided, and I'm adding it to the article. I don't know how to add a link to a source, but I'll look into it and try to get it done this weekend. Elsquared (talk) 23:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For now, you can see the report in one of the local newspapers at http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/brooklyn-football-team-fxfl-developmental-league-article-1.1911338. Elsquared (talk) 03:01, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding a nonreliable fan site as a source that the league is dead. Until we find a reliable source stating such we can no add that information. Spshu (talk) 20:59, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Spshu: With low-level leagues and organizations such as this, websites going down and the Bolts management making a statement are probably all you are going to get. Many of these leagues, such as the United Football League (2009–12) before it, shut down in the exact same way. Yosemiter (talk) 21:52, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That isn't what we have as a source. We have a fan site issuing a statement stating that the management stated that the league was defunct. Spshu (talk) 18:09, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Spshu: I agree the source is hearsay, but how does one source the fact that the league took down its own website? The source used is more of a secondary confirmation to that fact. As I said, go look at the sources for many other defunct leagues. Many don't have even that much and were noted as defunct some time after the fact since they never reorganized for another season. At least one group said something this time and the source reporting has no reason to make up the statement. This likely a case of "where there is (lots of) smoke, there's fire" Yosemiter (talk) 18:28, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It should also be noted that at this time last year, the league schedule had already been announced, tickets were on sale, and teams were busy signing players. Yosemiter (talk) 18:38, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For the new comer, @Robcas123:, sources in article indicated that operations are suspended not ended. Spshu (talk) 16:35, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
