Geographic Center[edit]

This should be included in the list as well. --Filipinayzd (talk) 15:43, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But it is not an extreme point. --Howard the Duck 16:06, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added {{contradict other}} tags to both articles. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 23:04, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Undersea features as extreme points?[edit]

Im not sure what "extreme points" refer to now, shouldn't they be the farthest point on land (i.e, Saluag Island in Tawi-Tawi instead of Frances Reef tho it may be farther?) or are undersea features also considered? Cos if they are, then I guess we should also adjust our east point at Benham Rise and the west point at the westernmost reef/cay being claimed by the Philippines in the Spratly Islands? --RioHondo (talk) 14:53, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pole of Inaccessibility[edit]

Added here the Pole of inaccessibility for Luzon and Mindanao. The way I did this was to use a radius tool in Mapdevelopers, and try to fit the biggest size of the circle in Luzon as well as Mindanao. From there, the center point of the circle was marked as the Point of Inaccessibility. Bootkinero (talk) 06:03, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a textbook example of WP:OR? Howard the Duck (talk) 03:11, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sebatik Island[edit]

Re Southernmost island (1968): Sebatik Island, Sabah 4°10′02″N 117°47′02″E:

The article for Sebatik Island says it is split between Indonesia and Malaysia, with no part of it claimed or in the Philippines. The table in reference 4 does not mention Sabatik, either; its southernmost point is Frances Reef, at 4º24’54".

Therefore I am going to be bold and remove the pertinent line. Dgndenver (talk) 02:46, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
