Night of the Long Knives[edit]

Consider this sentence: "The events of June 30, 1934 – the Night of the Long Knives – further solidified von Kleist-Schmenzin's opposition to the Nazi régime." My opinion that the phrasing, "further solidified his opposition," obscures the fact that he was roughly twelve years old when the Night of the Long Knives occurred. What is the nature of a twelve year old's opposition to a dictatorship? (Admittedly, Anne Frank was 13 when she began her famous diary, but need we assume that von Kleist-Schmenzin, a child of the aristocracy, was that politically aware at 12?) Rephrase? I think the sentence is misleading, but I want to add that we have to assume that being a aristocrat would have made him more likely to be politically aware. Please consider that this was an age in which still only a small part of society would aquire sufficient education to fully judge about political processes and as a aristocrat in a politicized family that was oppossed to the rumblings of the time, I think it is highly likely that this would have been discussed. Wikidata and Chinese Wikipedia[edit]

There's a problem on this article. It doesn't seem to link up with Chinese Wikipedia article over Wikidata.

Political views[edit]

Was he like his father, a supporter of DNVP and annexation of territory from neighboring countries(like Stauffenberg wanted as well(? More information on his motivation would be welcomed. Not all resistance members were democrats or supporters of peaceful relations in Europe, despite their desire to remove Hitler. --MyMoloboaccount (talk) 10:55, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
