Blank lines before stub tags[edit]

These were removed with the statement "guide not policy - thanks", but a guideline is described, at WP:STUB as " a generally accepted standard that editors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply.". If there is a reason why this article should be an "occasional exception", please explain it here. If not, then please leave the blank lines as per the guideline. But no one can explain WHY that is the standard. So explain it to me. Shame the Italain editor had to go off crying to someone about it. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:52, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't like the guideline, discuss it at Wikipedia talk:Stub as the other editor quite sensibly did. I imagine the explanation for the guideline is that it makes the stub tag stand out from the surrounding matter and more easily located by stub-sorters or someone looking to remove it from an ex-stub. You imagine? So you don't know. As I thought. And please don't re-add the spam link to the article. Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 10:00, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
