Email check removed[edit]

I've removed the following paragraph:

Check a genuine e-mail address/domain name by extracting the text after the “@” sign, and adding “www.” as a prefix and test the address in your browser. If genuine it should show the web site of the company the person is supposed to belong to. Check for telephone and fax numbers and contact the company directly to ensure the person actually works for them.

Email domains not necessarely lead to the company's website using this technique. It is quite possible - especially with larger companies - departments have own email domains but no own website.. . . s k i n 19:27, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Buy this book...[edit]

For only $99, this book will show you how to earn $10,000 a month from your own home. We've all seen the ads. Does this not count as a type of employment scam? FireWeed 00:35, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TV ADVERTISING TOUTING "THIS WEBSITE"[edit]

Bruce Berman, http;//www.296crazyfox.com, and all of the others are a new switch on the pyramid scam. They all tell you "FREE" information about how to get rich quick can be yours. Log on now...

When you do, you find that you have to pay $9.95 for shipping and handling, THEN you have 14 days to look at the information FREE. If you keep it you pay MORE, (typically $39.95) and if not you have to send it back, but forfeit your initial $9.95. These are advertised on otherwise reputable TV, such as Fox, MSNBC, History Channel, Discovery, and most major outlets.

Write to them to complain.

Look at my webpage http://www.otgadventures.com/Links.htm for more of these links.

scams[edit]

I wish to enquire and also share an experience i had. After applying via the mail to an ad i got from ap plc i got an interview letter sent to me via mail (african_ptrlm.yahoo.com) , i was told that my lettter was being processed. some days later i was told that my letter was ready and that i was to pay for my courier service at DHL. Considering the english was poor. should i consider it a scam. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.1.190.82 (talk) 08:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Resume blasting[edit]

Does anyone know what was that Canadian company investigated? Any references? It sounds very and I'd like to see their findings on the company. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Exp man (talkcontribs) 13:07, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This vague and unverifiable statement has been in the article for 2 years now. I have deleted it. A better examples with citation now needs to be added. ► Senator2029 (talk) 12:03, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

fraud recruitment agents in Dubai[edit]

this is my personnel experience with some fraud recruitment agents in dubai.

they are giving advertisements on application they're calling us for interview. initially they're telling need to modify the resume. for that there is a charge. next they're telling u need to take some courses for u'r improvement & to success in interview. they're asking references with their official email Id if we give it to them what they're doing they're contacting the people & starting their marketing,

& telling do u need any employees, we have lot of candidate with us. the following recruitment agents are doing the business. jobs in dubai.com, they dont have an office in dubai, they have office in dubai for employers. a virtual office in canada to receive money from candidates gulf jobseekers.com consulate area Burdubai. asking references & calling the referred people & starting their marketing & not sending any interview to candidates. core elements in crown plaza hotel sheikh zayed road.asking candidates money for short term course. frankly they're telling if u pay we'll send the resume to employer. actually they don't have vacancies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.96.228.93 (talk) 15:27, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
