Dates[edit]

  1. We give "Years active: 2008-present" in the infobox; date 2006 for the earliest TV series in the section 2.1 Filmography table. Our External link IMDb (likely to be our source) does give 2006 for "Trial & Retribution (TV Series)

Sheena".[1]

  1. We give birthdate 1 October 1985 in the infobox (and now in the lead where I replicated that). ISFDB gives 9 February 1985, no source.[2] Our source is not persuasive; it seems to me a 1 October 2003 notice that her 18th birthday party is covered in the November issue of Tatler, which does not clearly date the birthday or the party.[3]

Choice of Infobox image[edit]

@Jjj1238, DoubleCross, MurrayGreshler, Adolphus79, Rusted AutoParts, 2K LMG, SibTower1987, Eicatss, 55eo55, and Zombiesnyder: We've got two choices for infobox image (well, we have four in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Emerald_Fennell, but two are crops of the other two).

Which is "best" is going to be a matter of preference. I prefer the 2020 interview image, both because it is more recent, and because she is looking at the camera and smiling. User:Jjj1238 prefers the 2013 reading image, because the 2020 interview image is pixelated. In either case, I would like to include both in the article because she has apparently changed dramatically in appearance between 2013 and 2020. For opinions, I'm arbitrarily pinging the last 10 named editors who edited the article, but anyone else who stumbles across this discussion is welcome to opine - I do hope this won't be a formal RfC though, as someone will invariably come up to insist those last at least 30 days and I am hoping we can find an answer quicker. What say ye, o good editors and true? --GRuban (talk) 21:15, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • 2013 in infobox - per WP:LEADIMAGE... it may be a little older, but it is a higher "quality" image... better focus, simple black background forces the eyes to focus on the subject, etc... and she doesn't seem to have changed her appearance so much that a casual reader glancing at the images as they read the article wouldn't recognize them as the same person... maybe put this version of the 2020 image lower below in the personal life or filmography sections? - Adolphus79 (talk) 21:40, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • 2013: As already noted, I prefer the 2013 image by a mile. The 2020 image is small, of poor quality, and has a more distracting background. I don't think the pros of it being more recent and having her facing the camera outweigh its cons. I just wanted to make a note that I don't understand how we can say her appearance has changed dramatically between the two images? She looks exactly the same apart from her hair being put up in 2013 and having it down in 2020, which is barely a change in appearance. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 13:33, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like a reasonable consensus. Barring further comments, I'll leave the 2013 image in the infobox, and will put the 2020 image lower in the article body where Promising Young Woman is being discussed. I will take the liberty of using that image, rather than its crop, since I do think it is clearer, and the crop is fuzzier, but if someone strongly insists on replacing it with the crop, I won't fight to the death over it. Thank you folks. --GRuban (talk)

Hiding film style section for now[edit]

It is simply too early to say that she has a style of making films when she's only made one so far. While she might continue to address the same themes, she might never touch on them again. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 22:06, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
