I like the use of the word "consummate" in the first sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.97.110.142 (talk) 16:04, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Consumate" does not belong in an encyclopedia entry, but I agree with the opinion! More particularly, she is a consumate pianist. And what a wonderful posthumous keeper of Bill Evans's flame.132.181.160.42 (talk) 09:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, an image would be good,as per note above. She is very beautiful. Watched her live and I could not believe her age! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.152.229.24 (talk) 23:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Married to who[edit]

This article suggests she's married to two different people... so which one is she married to? 92.27.147.101 (talk) 23:15, 1 January 2012 (UTC) Actually, it says she married someone then later says she's married to someone else. So presumably she got divorced in between. But there are no dates or mention of this. So what happened? 92.27.147.101 (talk) 23:16, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Style[edit]

The biography at times reads like it was written by a promotional company, particularly the last two paragraphs. I propose some extensive editing to render it suitable for an encyclopedia entry. 90.47.62.91 (talk) 21:01, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I second this view: there is a lot of unsubstantiated opinion and unreferenced praise included, particularly after this article was edited by SecondOctaveTalent on 14 October 2014. This edit removed large sections of the previous article and substituted anodyne and flatteringly-expressed opinion. Second Octave happens to be Eliane Elias' commercial representative and their web site contains a promotional piece that is reproduced here almost verbatim. I propose that the previous version of the article should be fully reinstated and Second Octave barred from further editing of articles.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Sammysamak (talkcontribs) 02:04, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would file these comments under the title: "The clatter of dishes at a royal wedding". Eliane is a national treasure and her music will live long after this page has been retired. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Henrywasserman (talkcontribs) 07:54, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Henrywasserman: Why would this page retired? The above comment has to do with someone who had (and perhaps still has) a connection with the artist. That is considered to be a conflict of interest (see WP:COI). A Wikipedia article should be written from a neutral point of view and be encyclopaedic. And of course praise and rewards can be included in this, as long as they have reliable references and the article does not read as a hagiography. Karst (talk) 09:11, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
