Erm... they totally do. See the dance page of ThreeWeeks for instance. Fest (or SkinnyFest if they're doing that again this year) doesn't seem to have anything much archived, but it covers EIF too. It's a minority of the coverage in each, but they don't leave it out entirely, seriously. I'm re-instating the links.--Oolong 00:23, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have ploughed through the Threeweeks web site and I come up with the grand total of 2 theatre reviews for the EIF. There are no reviews for dance (the page that you pointed to), music or opera. I can see no previews at all. As you say, Skinny has not left the links visible from 2006 to check. By the way Fest does not appear to be getting together with Skinny this year. I was a fairly voracious consumer of previews/reviews last year (BroadwayBaby, EdinburghGuide.com and the List, as well as the above plus the usual Scotsman, Guardian etc) and I remember little or nothing from ThreeWeeks or Skinny wrt EIF. I fail to see that 2 reviews (in the case of ThreeWeeks) warrants a link. However, I do not wish to get involved in a game of ping pong so I will leave them for now but if the 2007 coverage is similarly negligible then I will be minded to remove one (or both). Hard to say what level would make it worth a link, really. For what it's worth, I was working for EIF last year and the year before, so I kept a pretty close eye on reviews etc. appearing, and my memory is that there was reasonably substantial coverage (previews as well as reviews) in both of these publications. I didn't keep notes though, and maybe one or both of them had less coverage than I remember. Do keep an eye out this year. If the coverage is really pitifully scant, let's lose the links. --Oolong 12:53, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edinburgh Festival[edit]

Skimming this article and the article on the Edinburgh Festival, I am confused: Is EF an out-growth or re-naming of EIF, or what? It would be nice if both articles clarify the relationship between the to events or terms. Kdammers (talk) 01:35, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why have the "See also" articles no periods after 1976?[edit]

I see 1947-1956, 1957-1966 and 1967-1976. Is there a reason for not continuing these articles? FredTC (talk) 04:43, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@FredTC:,I assume you are referring to the {{See also}} templates at the top of the various sub-sections (Ballet, Drama, etc.), as opposed to the See Also section just above the references. As far as I can see, the templates point to all the relevant articles that actually exist.

If you are asking why there are no articles on, for example, "Ballet at the Edinburgh International Festival" for years later than 1976 ... well, I suppose that's because nobody had got round to writing them. Perhaps you could fill those gaps yourself? Or post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles?
