"Trite" sayings[edit]

With regard to the phrase "Trite Sayings" in the sheet music, has there been a shift in meaning over the years? If I were to describe a preacher using "Trite Sayings" it would a description of commonplace or unoriginal thought. Am I alone in thinking this? If not alone, maybe a clarification would be helpful Rob Burbidge (talk) 10:58, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
