There are some factual errors on this page. Stephen Furbacher retired as Dynegy President and COO. He was not CFO. Here is a link to a Forbes story reporting on his retirement: http://www.forbes.com/feeds/afx/2007/12/04/afx4402088.html . Dynegy is in 13 states. That information is from the company web site: www.Dynegy.com. Dynegy is not a player in natural gas. Dynegy sold that business to Targa in 2005. Here is a link to a Bloomberg story reporting this sale: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/03/business/worldbusiness/03energy.html . Dynegy does not have more coal plant proposals than any other company in the industry. Dynegy is no longer proposing to build six new coal plants in the U.S. Dynegy is not known in some regions of the country as L.S. Power -- they are separate companies. Ameren purchase citation dispute

User:12.251.126.178 has claimed that the citation in the last paragraph of the section on the Ameren purchase does not support the article text. User:12.251.126.178 is incorrect. The text reads:

There was some speculation by financial analysts that the Dynegy-Ameren deal was a poor one. Julien Dumoulin-Smith, executive director of UBS Investment Research, said Dynegy is far more likely to shutter all five coal-powered plants rather than add pollution control devices. Dumoulin-Smith pointed out that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued final rules on sulfur dioxide emissions that go into effect in July 2018. Because the Edwards plant is in an area of low air quality, EPA is likely to force Dynegy to close the plant anyway. The remaining four plants are borderline cases, and may also be forced to close if EPA regulations tighten in the future (a highly likely possibility, he said).

But the Wernau article (Wernau, Julie. "Power play for Ill. coal" Chicago Tribune. Sept 22, 2013, p. 1) says:

Julien Dumoulin-Smith, executive director of UBS Investment Research, said he expects Dynegy to retire the plants instead of retrofitting them. Last week UBS noted that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's recently finalized sulfur dioxide standards, which take effect in July 2018, make it likely Ameren's Edwards plant will be mandated to close because it is in an area with less-than-standard air quality. The investment research firm also said the new standards bode poorly for the future of Midwest Generation's portfolio of coal plants, which are operating while the company undergoes bankruptcy proceedings. Those plants are also in areas deemed to have subpar air quality.

It should also be noted that User:12.251.126.178 has made numerous edits to the article Fossil-fuel power station, which removed cited text, tried to downplay the pollution generated by fossil fuel power plants, and violated the WP:NPOV and WP:ORIGINAL guidelines. These have had to be reverted—twice. User:12.251.126.178 is exhibiting the same behavior here. - Tim1965 (talk) 17:07, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Ad section

I tried to fix the "Back into top tier of generators" advertising section but got reverted. Phrases like "It would be a process unlike any the energy industry had ever witnessed" have no place in an encyclopedia. I was unable to check two of the sources, which require registration, but the third does not support this breathless ad copy. Kendall-K1 (talk) 18:56, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

That IP address is registered to Dynegy, 4201 Southwest Freeway, Houston via an allocation to CyrusOne LLC. False redirection from the (erroneously deleted) page for the concept "Dinergy"

The concept 'Dinergy" did have a page which was erroneously deleted and the word 'Dinergy" was erroneously redirected to this (Dynegy) page. A copy of the original page (probably stub) for the concept "Dinergy"can be found here! So the redirection for "Dinergy" from this page (Dynegy) must be deleted and the original page for "dinergy" (see link above) must be recreated Gillcv (talk) 17:02, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
