Fair use rationale for Image:Oxcartman-1-.gif[edit]

Image:Oxcartman-1-.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why no mention of his first marriage?[edit]

He was married, and his son the protagonist in at least one poem, before the mid 60s. Then divorced, sometime before 1968.

I don't have a citable source in mind, but have seen something in print recently enough that a reference can probably be found via an Internet search. Never been any kind of secret, which is why I am surprised at the lack of mention. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Publius3 (talkcontribs) 07:56, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On page 115 of his memoir Unpacking the Boxes, he says that he and his first wife were separated in 1967 after fifteen years of marriage (which would seem to imply they were married in 1952) and that they were divorced in 1969. 65.213.77.129 (talk) 15:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to this recent story: http://theamericanscholar.org/one-road/#.UXi3VMsaySM

Hall was married twice, and had two children with his first wife.202.248.41.90 (talk) 03:48, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

I doubt the veracity of "he was also born inside the back of a cab car." (Early Years), but I couldn't find the edit, and I'm not sure how to revert it in any case. Not sure if a simple removal is the proper thing to do(?) 24.128.188.152 (talk) 02:59, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's hard to say, often I think biographical entries should be less accessible for anyone to edit, but then it seems to go against the basic principles of the wiki. Maybe the honor system only works among the honorable? After all, my neighbor across the street honestly believes that Don moved to back to Connecticut and took up journalism under a fictional pen name and the paper uses an image of Dana Carvey as his avatar, and that to make ends meet he had opened up a shop for specialty tutoring, namely reading however my delusional neighbor says it turned into a virtual day care center for the poetically inclined. I say go ahead and remove it as Mr. Hall is prominent enough that there will always a good mix of idiots and lunatics who may honestly believe the words the write, however the don't recognize that for their words to have rung true, the definition would have to have been vandalism.Dirtclustit (talk) 17:09, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The following link needs to be updated because Peoples Archive has now been moved to a new website called Web of Stories:

The correct link to the Web of Stories website (http://webofstories.com) should be:

Missing books[edit]

What about the books "Seasons at Eagle Pond" and "Here at Eagle Pond"? Probably under memoirs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.48.109.220 (talk) 16:59, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
