Who's disputing neutrality? Plus suggestions.[edit]

I don't understand that flag on this article. Nothing on this discussion page questions the content, nor do I see questionable material.

A discography would be a nice addition -- easily sourced via the many sites for Hvorostovsy online.

Also notable about this artist is his devotion to Russian music in many forms. Through recitals, performance and recordings, he has drawn new audiences to not only operas of Russia, but also its choral music, its folk music and song cycles (his performances live and recorded of Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death are unparalleled), songs from the Soviet experience of WWII and recent popular songs. His devoted audience among Russian emigres in the United States, as well as his following among the current citizens of the post-Soviet Russian states, is remarkable, in no small part due to his attention to neglected Russian musicology. This, too, can be documented through online sources such as Opera News.

I am a newcomer to Wikipedia, and do not feel competent to add to the article, but encourage these additions.

In answer to the previous comment, yes, I've heard Hvorostovsky live from the audience on numerous occasions in many locations, and have had the privilege of appearing with him in performances with the San Francisco Opera, one of his favorite companies. I've got far worse in the Oxford Companion to Music! Is there a guideline on minimum resolution? It might not be a great picture, but at least its accurate. It's gotten to the point that it is almost pointless to ad to Wikipedia pages; almost everything is deleted, it seems. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure there is a contact page at his website. Why don't you contact that website for a picture that can be used. Health problems[edit]

According to his web site and other sources, Hvorostovsky has cancelled all summer performances due to a brain tumor diagnosis. I hope somebody can research this (easy to check with a web search) and update the page. A very sad development. Opus131 (talk) 06:02, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
