This is a whitewash of the completely dishonest Jett, and furthers his slanders.

"After years of denials by her parents, in mid-2010 Berenson confessed that she had knowing aided the MRTA when she wrote to the pardon commission and to Peruvian President Alan Garcia admitting to her "criminal collaboration with a terrorist organization." This is the Fascist Point of View that I guess the neocon-friendly Wikipedia wants.

the above link is the FULL statement by Lori Berenson: she never uses the word knowingly, nor the word criminal. In fact, she is being as submissive as possible to the kangaroo court that Peru still has as a legacy of the Fujimori regime, without contradicting that her assistance (giving the upper floor of her apartment as a sublet to two Tupamaros) was not, in fact, knowing. Bear in mind that her "audience" there was the kangaroo courts. This is a truly despicable article.

After going through what Berenson did, what would Jett have said?

"In the first place, just to clarify something the prosecutor has just mentioned. I was sentenced for the crime of collaboration with terrorism, and I did collaborate with the MRTA. I have never been a leader, nor a militant of the MRTA. I have never participated in acts of violence nor of bloodshed, nor have I killed anyone. And what I would like to clarify here is that I know that my mere participation, even though it was secondary in one incident, if it contributed to the violence in society I am deeply sorry and I am remorseful for that. If my coming to Perú has meant harm to the country, I am sorry and I am remorseful for that. If there are people who feel affected by my words or by my acts, I ask their forgiveness. It is the only thing that I can say."

With this article Wikipedia contributes its bit to the general degradation of human rights worldwide.

BTW I didn't correct the poor grammar of using "knowing" instead of "knowingly" because I want sane people, not the Paulbots and neocons who run Wikipedia, to see this sort of article for the right-wing ignorant screed it is, not an encyclopedic entry.
