Possible death

The article has been edited to reflect his death. So far I've found tweets supporting this, but not from immediate family or officials. If it is true, there should be some reliable source soon. Until then, let's leave it as it is. —Guanaco 05:37, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Bibliography

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates and tables for short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue. Misleading statement about being sober and quitting drugs

Denis Johnson never stopped using drugs and drinking and sadly he died from liver cancer as this is what will happen. He wrote articles in the 2000s and 2010s about how he still drank alcohol, used hard drugs such as opiates, and other drugs. The source to that section reads [2]

"His life became devoted to decadence and drugs, until his return trip home in 1978. His last alcoholic drink was that year; he kicked drugs in 1983, the same year that his first novel (Angels) was published."
