Kelsey Smith[edit]

I was just about to add Kelsey Smith (the recent murder victim) to this list. However, as I was doing so, I realized that I had two questions: (1) Is a murder victim of appropriate notability to add to this list? (2) How does this list handle dates of death that are inexact? While Kelsey's death was certainly tragic, I do not believe she fits into the "notable" category. Until such time as someone builds a wiki page specifically for her, I would say she does not belong in the Notable Deaths page. Just my opinion of course. Tom M. 02:16, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has many articles on murder victims, "notable" only for the their status as murder victims (e.g., Laci Peterson, Kitty Genovese, etc.). I will add Kelsey Smith to this list. Does anyone know the proper format for an inexact date of death? (JosephASpadaro 05:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

That's a very good question, and I applaud your compassion, Runway27r. The ugly fact is that society tends to focus their hatred on perpetrators, who tend to get a lot more media coverage than the otherwise non-entity victims (unless the victim just happens to be a celebrity such as Sharon Tate or JFK, for example). For the purposes of encyclopedias, we can think of it like this, dispassionately - the victim did nothing notable, because being murdered is not an action of the victim; whereas the action of the perpetrator, while abhorrent, is something they did that made them notable, if infamous. That's not to say that I agree we should add every single executee to this list, nor exclude every single victim. -- JackofOz 10:19, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am here to repeat my question: Does anyone know how this article traditionally handles inexact or unknown dates of death? Thus, with Kelsey Smith, we don't know the date of her death, but we do know the date of her abduction. Should she just be listed under June 2 ... or should some notation be added to her listing? I don't think there is any "rule" in such cases. The last similar event I can recall was the disappearance of Andrew McAuley whose death is listed at Deaths in February 2007#9 20 on the last day that he was known to be alive. Using a similar approach, it would be appropriate to list Ms Smith's death on 2 June. WWGB 14:43, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I will abide by that. But in the interest of encyclopedic accuracy, there really should be some notation in these cases that a date is the date of abduction or the date that the individual went missing, etc. There should be some explanatory note when the date of death is uncertain or unknown, in order to be factually accurate. Tony de Santis[edit]

Why is he listed as the "American" owner of the Drury Lane Theatre? This would seem to imply that he owned the Drury Lane Theatre in London, which was not the case. He owned the theatre of the same name in Chicago. Not surprising that he was an American. Perhaps it should read "Owner of the American Drury Lane Theatre"

  • he's listed thus cuz we have a format for these entries where we state the person's nationality after their name and age but before their reason for notability and cause of death. If there's a grey area over which Drury Lane Theatre is meant, it should be easy enough to disambiguate by pipelinking, a note in brackets or even just the different spelling of "Theater" (assuming the American one is in fact spelt "–er"). also add new entries to the bottom pls. About the "Vince McMahon" posting[edit]

Yes I have saw the article about the Vince McMahon blow-up on RAW last night, but really... unless they actually find a body within the wreakage, I suggest that no-one post an obit in the "Deaths" page. He's been confirmed not dead, but people are still posting it. A lot. I don't think Deaths in 2007 needs to be protected, but maybe we can insert one of those "visible only to editors" lines and tell people not to add him? Would that help? Canadian Paul 23:28, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was watching WWE and there was some "Federal Investiagator" guy , named "Daniel Beck" that is interviewing all the WWE staff. I dont know if the guy is real FEDERAL agent or he is just following a script or something. And also why the hell would this be fake if they have the car towed in a impound lot and its burnt. Also if you look at the video you would not see a "person" leaving the bottom. I have checked it over 5 times on YouTube to figure that Vince K. Mcmahon is officaly dead of "3-dree burns" so can I please edited it now.

no, because he's still not dead in any way. Read this: WWE's McMahon still alive after 'explosion'. The limo was blown up and filmed 24 hours b e f o r e the television program went to air. It's all a clever publicity stunt. What about the Daniel Beck , the federal investiagator. Is he a "actor" or he is real life investigator. Also they dont say FBI on WWE.COM they just say "FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS.

According to this link, [2], somone called Carlos Romero died on June 21, 2007. It is also on the Social Security Death Index. The birth date, 15 February, 1927, matches the actor who played Carlo Agretti in Falcon Crest. The place of death was Ferndale, California, and actor Romero was born in Hollywood, California. Does anyone out there know if it is the one and the same person? Does anyone out there have any additional information?

Enrico Garbuglia[edit]

I've removed the entry:

The source given is dead (I'm not sure if currently or permanently), there are no working archives of it I can find and it's probably an unreliable source anyway. I've spent a good half hour searching online and I can't find any other source to verify this which doesn't apparently originate with Wikipedia. Thryduulf (talk) 02:17, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
