Age[edit]

Vance lied about his age, saying that he was 29 rather than 31 when the Dodgers gave him a tryout. Where should we put this in? ςפקιДИτς 02:28, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Appearances in literature[edit]

Vance appears as a minor character in the 1987 mystery novel "The Spoiler" by Domenic Stansberry. As the novel takes place in the 80s and Vance died in 1961, this is apparently an "alternate history" usage of the real person if he had lived into his 90s.
