I think there is no 'Danaya' in Greek myth. The only close personages are King Danaüs and the Goddess Diana. The former has nothing to do with the concept of Earth, just a king with numerous daughters who ordered them to kill their husbands on their wedding night in order for him and them to reign supreme in their kingdom. Only one of his daughters did not obey him, Hypermnestra who spared her husband and became the ancestors of heroes such as Perseus and Hercules. However, the closest to Danaya's character is the Roman Goddess Diana, the deity of the forest and wood, to whom the hind and the cypress were sacred. She was also identified as the Greek Goddess Artemis, an ardent huntress, patron of women and the goddess of the moon. In art, she was pictured as carrier of the bow and arrow and usually pictured accompanied by a deer or a hound (Grolier Academic Encyclopedia). --61.9.36.156 08:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Succeeded by Avria???[edit]

Technically, Danaya is still the queen of Lireo. Avria has only taken possession of her body. The diwatas know that Danaya is their queen and are clueless of Avria's plans.--Sang'gre Danaya's baby 05:58, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
