Focus of the article[edit]

This article seems to be focused too much on the studies, and not enough on the diet itself, which is probably what most people want to read about. The details of the study design etc. can probably be relegated to a separate page, with this page describing the diet itself in more detail. -Nren4237 (talk) 12:33, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More links that could be incorporated[edit]

Just follow the example given in the two already in the article. Post here or on my talk page if you have any questions.

There's likely a lot of similarities between these, and I recommend looking for more articles as sources. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 00:30, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As usual, the American who wrote the article has forgotten that there are other countries in the world besides the USA. The NIH is an organisation based in the USA and not all countries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.105.184.222 (talk) 17:25, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is the relevance of the above comment? The NIH is an authority on the subject, no matter what country the organization is based in. Omnibus (talk) 19:09, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citations[edit]

Whoever wrote this should really, really, read about how to cite sources on Wikipedia. All but one references in this article were broken, I am fixing it now. --elwood_j_blues (talk) 19:02, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've believe I've cleaned up the citations. -Optigan13 (talk) 07:28, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So, eh, what is the DASH diet?[edit]

Other than scattered allusions (which can be summarised as "eat things everyone knows are healthy and reduce things that everyone knows are unhealthy), there's almost no info in this article to describe the DASH diet.

If I increase my fruit, veg, and grains, replace fatty meat with lean meat, and decrease my salt and saturated fats, am I on the DASH diet? Gronky (talk) 13:23, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@Gronky: Took some time, but I added a Description section, hope this answers your request --Signimu (talk) 16:26, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Education assignment: PHMD 2040 Service-Learning[edit]

This article was the subject of a Wiki Education Foundation-supported course assignment, between 19 October 2021 and 31 May 2022. Further details are available on the course page. Student editor(s): AlphanMangos (article contribs).

Adding a section for Health Benefits?[edit]

I think one of the ways to improve this article is including some health benefits of the DASH diet. See the wiki article on the mediterranean diet for example. AlphanMangos (talk) 19:32, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed it was discussed a little bit in the second paragraph of the first section but separating it into it's own section as "health benefits" may make it easier for users to find the information AlphanMangos (talk) 04:08, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
