A week?[edit]

I'm mulling this over and am still incapable of understanding it:

A prolific writer, Thomas' career has been most successful when his circumstances have allowed him to concentrate on writing. A position at the American University, for example, proved disastrous and was cut short after only a week.

A week? A week? How could one seriously know what impact this assignment would have on one's writing career after just a week? How could a week lost ever be considered disastrous, in any sense of the word? Maybe if you blew a deadline, but then we need that additional context to understand.

I wonder if anyone can find a source for this claim, to soothe my own confusion if nothing else. --Saforrest 15:29, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the image is in the article now – as a matter of policy, i don't think there'd be basis to remove image.
