Bike Polo Kicks Ass.
I would like to make this entry better, perhaps divided into sections for each city or group, where they could each briefly describe their unique rules, meeting times, playingfield conditions, pre/post game activities etc. Is this appropiate for Wikipedia? Or should I start a bikepolo blog or both?

That's not entirely appropriate for Wikipedia. If there are regional variations in rules, those are certainly worth noting; however, posts about regional playing times, field conditions, activities, etc., are better placed elsewhere. —No-One Jones (m) 20:17, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I just deleted the particular stuff. It should be more general, if it gets particular, maybe just about the difference between offical international bike polo and the punk-ass courier version that is sometimes called bike hockey.
i'm suggesting that we fold in the Urban_Cycle_Polo page to this one. "Urban" is not exactly an appropriate name, yet the version of polo described on that page is quickly becoming the dominant one. I propose that this change happens sometime in Summer 2008 --Kjmcw (talk) 19:35, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Urban Cycle Polo should not be merged in with Cycle Polo. There is a clear difference that deserves distinction. This can be furthered by the following quote from the Cycle Polo page which reads: "Cycle polo was officially recognized by the International Cycling Union in 2001. Starting in 2007, a variation of cycle polo so-called Urban Cycle Polo is getting considerable media attention in the USA and Canada. This game is less formal and has rules adapted to accommodate urban environments." LeeAzzarello (talk) 01:46, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK i'm fine with that. The main problem was the name, as mentioned below, no one calls it "urban cycle polo", so i've put in a request for a name change to Hardcourt Bike Polo. Kevinjosephwalsh (talk) 19:10, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page name change[edit]

The name should change from "urban cycle polo" to "hard court bike polo". Also the "cycle polo" page should stay the same and as it's own thing. Grass polo and hardcourt are very different. "urban" is not the correct word to use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Evolve76 (talkcontribs) 01:49, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I fully agree, and i've put in a request for change over at Wikipedia:Requested_moves#24_November_2008 I also think that Cycle Polo should be renamed to Bike Polo, given its much more widespread use. For example, 7,100 google hits for "cycle polo", and 101,000 hits for "bike polo". Kevinjosephwalsh (talk) 19:07, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

International Bicycle Polo Championships[edit]

Hmm... No International Bicycle Polo Championships since 2006? Because the table doesn't have nothing after that. Or is it only not updated? 82.141.119.222 (talk) 06:21, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't found them with some googling. Didn't have time to go thorough the search results deeply. 82.141.119.222 (talk) 06:45, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tourny's could definitely use some fact checking [1] [2] here 20:34, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The old picture doesn't actually show cycle polo, but cycle ball.[edit]

The illustration titled "early twentieth century" (or similar) looks like Cycle ball, not Cycle polo: None of the players has a mallet, and one of them is addressing the ball with his front wheel — just like you do in cycle ball, and not like you do in cycle polo.

I'm not saying this is the WP editors' error; the mistake is clearly the Liebig Company's, or their artist's. But nevertheless, the picture doesn't show what it's purported to. I dunno how this should be fixed, but I think it should, somehow. --CRConrad (talk) 10:04, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
