Their multi-level-marketing scam tactics[edit]

These are well documented on the web and elsewhere, and I was surprised there was nothing on the wikipedia page about it. I thought maybe they had some employees cleaning the page on a regular basis, but then I don't see anything in the Talk section about it either. Is there a reason? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.169.131.14 (talk) 15:09, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Although I don't disagree with the multi-level marketing comment, I feel the word scam is misleading. I don't believe they are trying to decieve anybody and the word scam is too harsh. -gstreak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gstreak (talkcontribs) 19:23, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

CUTCO is not a multi-level marketing company, rather a single-level direct seller. <ref>http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20130618-908434.html<ref> <ref>http://workathomemoms.about.com/od/runningahomebusiness/g/single-level-marketing.htm<ref> — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katdono (talkcontribs) 12:39, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the multi-level marketing comment. In my understanding, Cutco recruits do not get paid, other than a small bonus, for recruiting others. If there is information to the contrary, aside from a traditional sales manager's incentive pay structure, then the MLM should be removed as incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.9.64.4 (talk) 20:27, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

They clearly make most of their money when people sign up to sell the seller's kit for like 500 bucks. It's a scam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.77.125.34 (talk) 22:19, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Refer to Vector Marketing article, the security deposit policy was banned company wide in 2011. Also $500 is unnecessarily hyperbolic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.182.67.209 (talk) 00:24, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously- using "vector marketing" as a heading is misleading. It was classified as a predatory multilevel-marketing scheme. The words multi-level-marketing did not appear in any of the litigation you cited, let's please keep Wikipedia neutral by avoiding charged language. I'm changing the title here to reflect that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.182.67.209 (talk) 00:21, 6 March 2018‎
I've restored it. Changing the section title like this only causes confusion, since the rest of the comments about the term "scam" no longer make any sense. Additionally, this section has only sporadically been active since it was started and named in 2012, presumably by someone other than the person you are responding to. I believe that there should be mention of multi-level-marketing on the main page. The only dissenting voice Katdono is an admitted employee of the company — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fizzhaz (talk) 18:28, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have a CUTCO pair of scissors that I’ve had in my family for 1700 years and I would like to exchange them for a new pair and have $4000 in credit 2600:6C54:7EF0:9550:2CF0:2B75:290E:EDA6 (talk) 01:16, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
