Mid 1980s[edit]

I seem to remember that the Saudi King only stated insisting that this title be used every time his name is mentioned on state TV in the mid 80s. Prior to that he was referred to has His Highness. --205.228.74.13 10:58, 2 November 2005 (UTC)salimfadhley[reply]

Yeah, King Fahd used it for the first time in the 80's I think, but they didn't use His Highness, but His Majesty prior to that. -- Eagle^a^mⁿ 12:26, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

الحرمين الشريفين actually more literally translates as "two noble sanctuaries" than "two holy mosques" (though I don't know whether anything would be gained by changing the title of the article, which seems to be an accepted English equivalent...). AnonMoos 13:32, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
