Please stop posting links to amazon or google books in Wiki bibliographies[edit]

In my opinion it looks like an advertisement of a particular bookseller - Wikipedia should by all means be neutral and there is no need to support market giants such as Amazon by providing free marketing on Wiki. Bibliography should work the same as on paper - point to a book and an author not to a particullar seller or reseller. It is useful to put a link to a free resource or text fragment in any book if this fragment is important and available for view or preview. But what is the purpose in pointing out to a particular specific item which is totally closed and available in hundreds other places, booksellers or libraries? What is the logic behind this? Is Wikipedia advocating Amazon monopolly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.22.14.137 (talk) 19:16, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The selection task and its central responsibility[edit]

The article only remember that "(...) curator makes decisions regarding what objects to select", but it need some enhance, perhaps a section about selection.

It is a central task to curators, and, often, the main rationale to use not only one person to do this decision. "Democratic curatory body" is another important topic here, and they are growing with the Internet decision mechanisms (as well as some crowdsourced statistical selection managed by curators).
