The use of Image:Flag of Germany 1933.svg is a little confusing. Are there actually Nazi-style swastikas in or around the building? Melchoir 16:52, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. The use of the flag is misleading and inaccurate given the information provided in the various sources. Nowhere do the sources say that this particular flag (Germany, 1933) is used or represented in the eatery. The use of the flag picture makes a link that, while implicit in the restaurant's theme, is not verifiable or supportable or given the evidence. A picture of the eatery itself (which would have the same impact given its exterior, would therefore be more appropriate. I have removed the photo. User:Captain canada 14:00 (EST), 22 August 2006.

They also spell it Hitlers' cross for some reason. Anyway, the photo of Adolf Hitler that is in the article now is inappropriate - it's an article about a restaurant, not about Adolf Hitler. Zocky | picture popups 23:01, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]


Asians and africans in general tend to have a limited understanding of the WW2 and it's background, for good or ill tinted by anti-colonialism... But then, how could they not resist cheering, if a little and just for the 'ennemies of my ennemies are allies' factor, for someone who gave hell to their hated and hypocrytical colonial overlords?

Funny[edit]

Interesting article. It gave me a funny mental image of the owner shrugging and claiming he didn't know what the big deal was. While I know that the average chap in India might not know as much about WWII as an average guy in the UK or whatever, the owner was clever enough to deck out his place in Nazi stuff and gain international publicity. It's about as "offensive" as someone opening a mongolian restaurant called Ghenghis Khan's. The owner simply picked the western historical figure with the most recognition.

Move to Cross Café[edit]

I believe this article should be renamed Cross Café already since that is the name now used. --Pare Mo (talk) 17:42, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citations, Nazism and NPOV.[edit]

I removed a phrase which read "terrible crimes commited by the Nazis"... From what I understand about NPOV, this is quite in violation of that (even though of course, crimes were terrible).

Also, better provide sources if you are saying that a whole class of people identify with Nazism.

Request for deletion - Does this obscure place actually deserve a wiki?[edit]

Can someone please explain WHY this page exists? I have spoken to people from New Mumbai and most have not even heard of this café. This wiki seems to have been created for advertisement purposes. Not sure if this fits into Wikipedia guidelines. Though I am perfectly happy to let it stay, something tells me that this qualifies for a request for deletion. Any comments?
