Need for additional citations

Although well written and thorough, the most of the article is severely under-cited. As an example, the near entirety of the History section is written without citation and is wholly unverified. The article is being tagged with a {{more citations needed}} tag - which seems an obvious choice. Please add discussion here for disagreements or paths forwards on sourcing to verify the non-cited portions of the article. Tkasmai (talk) 19:30, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
