Notability questioned[edit]

This topic, publicly trading the stock of cooperative enterprises, does not appear to have enough coverage to meet the notability guidelines. I found one article about possible implementation in the Iranian stock market, and have added that citation to the article. It would seem to be better to discuss this topic in one or two sentences in the Cooperative article. See Talk:Cooperative#Merge from Cooperative Stock Market for a discussion of that idea. --Bejnar (talk) 22:37, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Lunduniv:New theories seldom rate articles because they seldom can meet the notability guidelines. I took a look at Lund's paper, "Cooperative Equity and Ownership", and did not see where she discussed "cooperative stock markets" at all. She did say, Cooperatives typically limit the sale of shares to members only, and the only permissible re-purchaser of shares is the co-op itself. Nonetheless, she does mention in passing that co-ops may issue non-voting preferred stock to secure additional financing, although she also mentions I.R.S. limitations on the extent of dividends that such stock can receive. While Lund may be a reasonable source for information about co-ops in the United States, and in particular farm co-ops, it is not a source for the topic of this article. --Bejnar (talk) 21:12, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
