I know this page is quite new, but I'd like to catch grave errors before too much time is invested in this page. Here's the problem: the page does not define, at all, what "functional instructions" are. I've never heard this term before, and I have worked as a functional programmer for a few years. It looks like "functional instructions" are really pure functions, of which there are myriad in pretty much any modern programming language. If this article is to be expanded, a good source must be found that defines functional programming in a broad sense, as well as sources that establish the functional character of the languages being compared. For those who must shift between languages or translate algorithms between languages a useful addition would be the syntax of function definition. The closely related topic of class methods might be covered or referenced. Also notions of variable scope might be covered or referenced.Lou (talk) 00:33, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
