"Effectively crushed"[edit]

The sources I've looked do seem to suggest the CLP was largely destroyed by the 1993-5 trials, so I've restored some reference to this. If we can find some references to current activity, however, I'm fine with cutting it again. -- Khazar (talk) 17:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a mention of the party as active as of 2008, http://www.dctcrs.org/syriennews15.htm --Soman (talk) 20:41, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the facebook page of the party http://www.facebook.com/pages/%D8%AD%D8%B2%D8%A8-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%85%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B9%D9%8A-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9/157820097616135 . Great, thanks. I pulled the quote and added that Ahewar link to ext. links. Cheers, Khazar (talk) 21:20, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The party was completely crushed in the late 80s, early 90s, and what survived are a few members who managed to escape into exile in Europe. In 2000, Assad jr. freed most political prisoners, and the party regained some foothold in the country. This I know from personal experience, I just need to find a source that corroborates that. Sounds good. I don't read Arabic, so I'm at the end of my own sources, unfortunately. -- Khazar (talk) 03:00, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(indent) No worries, I'll try to expand the article with some sources from Google Books and Arabic ones if reliable. Yazan (talk) 08:18, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
